E-commerce in Singapore is booming, with over 200,000 e-commerce parcels delivered daily in the country. With e-commerce, additional packaging is required to transport your goods. It is estimated that 45% of carbon impact in e-commerce comes from packaging.

With the growth in e-commerce in our small island, it is important to explore alternatives to more sustainable packaging systems such as reusable packaging.

How am I helping to save the earth by returning the reusable packaging?

For reusable e-commerce packaging to be environmentally sustainable, it must be reused a number of times. You play an important role in making this a reality.

Every time you return a reusable packaging, you are avoiding the use of new resources for the manufacturing of single-use packaging, thus saving up to 2 kg of CO2 for each kilogram of virgin material. That is equivalent to what one tree will absorb in a month!

Even if you reuse it at home for other purposes, this still increases the carbon footprint as we will have to replace them.

How do I open the reusable packaging?

When you receive your order, start by removing the shipping label. Next, open the packaging by tearing open the velcro strip. As the packaging is meant to be reused, do not use scissors to cut or open your parcel.

The reusable packaging looks old, should I be concerned?

Wears on the reusable packaging is a good indication that it has gone through multiple deliveries – this is what we aim for! Damaged packagings that are torn or not fit for use will be eliminated from the system to ensure that your products are delivered securedly to you. This gives you an indication of how the reusable packaging will look over time:

How do I ensure my reusable packaging is in good condition?

• Do not use scissors to cut open this parcel.
• Do not
keep personal items in them before returning, especially food.
• Do not wash or soak it.
Do not fill it with items weighing a total of more than 5kg.

• Do take good care of it.
• Do return it promptly once you have the opportunity.

How do I return the reusable packaging?

There are two options for returning the reusable packaging:

(1) Mail it back to us for free!
(2) Drop it off at our office location!

For option (1), follow the steps below:

(a) Obtain the sticker label that is enclosed in your reusable packaging. It should look something like this:

(b) Fold the reusable packaging and stick the sticker label as shown in the picture below:

(c) Drop off the folded packaging at your nearest P.O box, and off it goes!

 

For option (2), follow the steps below:

(a) Contact us via our email at customercare@alpsgroup.asia or Instagram DM, and let us know of your order number.
(b) Once confirmed, we will notify you of the address and timing to drop off the reusable packaging.

Will I be able to receive $5 off if I return my reusable packaging?

Yes. Once we have received your reusable packaging that is in good condition, we will contact you to let you know of your exclusive discount code that can be used on your next order.

Will I have an entry into a lucky draw if I return my reusable packaging?

Yes. Once we have received your reusable packaging that is in good condition, you will have one entry into a lucky draw where you have a chance to win Cloversoft products! Every reusable packaging in good condition received will be considered one entry. Multiple entries are allowed.

Finally.. A super Sustainable Way of Posting! The reusable packaging we are using is called SWOP, and it can be reused many times for deivering parcels and is made from toally natural, renewable materials – FSC paper, organic cotton, soy-base inks and a plant-derived coating.
